GabrielSitting in darkness I try to stop from shaking. My mind  is in  turmoil all I ask is “why?”

The quick whiz of electric cars streaked by my window giving me quick glimpses of freedom. The rain pounded on the roof and drifted in through the open window. This is pretty much just for me but feel free to read it you want. Right now I feel pretty accomplished. My biological grandfather is a very harsh old man. He never smiles and I've never heard him say that he loves someone. Last night I was talking to him, not sure why but I was, he heard my Rammstein cd Mutter playing and asked me if I understood any of it. When I told him I understood some of it he kind of laughed and said a couple things things.
1. Erinnern Sie sich, dass zuerst Sie deutsch sind. (Remeber that first you are German.)
2. Erinnern Sie sich, dass an zweiter Stelle Sie meine Enkelin sind. (Remeber that second you are my granddaughter.) After that my dad started hollering at me and he laughed again and asked me if I remebered his favorite picture of me. He said "That is what you are." My dad hollered again and he told me not to call him untill I could carry on a decent conversation in German. I'm goning to take this as way of saying something nice. Especially considering that at one point he refused to believe that we are related. Maybe he's changed in the years since I've seen him.
